The water level at Rabindra Sarobar has gone down following a prolonged dry spell in Kolkata. Kolkata has been experiencing an inter-seasonal dry spell. Kolkata usually witnesses spells of light and smart showers and cloudy conditions around the middle of January. However, this year’s winter-spring tenure has remained extremely dry.

Kolkata’s mayor Firhad Hakim takes stock of the renovation work of Tallah tank on Thursday. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) hopes to finish the renovation work by June 2023. Tallah tank, the largest overhead reservoir in the world, has a capacity to contain nine million gallons of water.
