Ranajoy Bose, executive member of the Christian Burial Board, said: ‘The celebration in India also observes All Saints Day the previous day, November 1, when the church pastors or parish priests come and remember the saints and other pastors by offering prayers from the morning at their graves. It’s a bit like Shab-e-Barat among the Muslims and to some extent like Mahalaya among the Hindus to offer prayers to the ancestors’
