Even as July 19, 2023, marked the 154th birth anniversary of poet, playwright and musician Dwijendralal Ray, there were no functions or celebrations to observe this day at his house on 4A, DL Ray Street where a school operates currently. Ray’s famed Dwijendrageeti is a subgenre of Bengali music. Two of his most famous compositions are ‘Dhana Dhanya Pushpa Bhara’ and ‘Banga Amar Janani Amar’. He is regarded as one of the most important figures in early modern Bengali literature
