1/4 Switchon Foundation in partnership with WWF-India co-organised a 'Cycle For Earth-Ride' at the Biswa Bangla Gate on Saturday. 2Wheels Kolkata along with other respective clubs took part in the initiative in supporting the 'Earth Hour' initiative. The event encourages individuals to turn off lights and electrical appliances at their homes and offices for an hour to promote awareness of climate change challenges and energy conservation

3/4 The Jessore Road Gachh Bachao Committee held a press conference at the Kolkata Press Club on Saturday from 3pm and also organised a human chain at Dharmatala in front of the Lenin statue from 4pm. The committee demonstrated against the felling of more than 300 trees to construct five railway over bridges and widening a portion of the National Highway 112 near the India-Bangladesh border
