Uber has identified and geotagged 11 popular locations that have big-ticket pujas and where the traffic load is expected to be more.

Uber officials said this is an attempt to provide residents with a smooth travel experience this year. Taking a 360-degree approach, Uber has mapped all Puja venues physically and assigned pick-up and drop-off points, setting up in-app notifications guiding riders to the venues and pick-up points easing the commute for all its riders. Kolkata residents will be able to access Uber’s entire suite of products during these days, including Uber Rentals, which will have a car waiting for them at each stop as they go pandal-hopping.

Commenting on the arrangements, Shiva Shailendran, Head of Cities, Uber India, said, “It is our endeavour to ensure riders always have a seamless travel experience, and that intent is only amplified during the festive season when we work to ensure issues like finding space to park is the last concern on their minds. It’s our privilege to be collaborating with the Kolkata Traffic Police yet again, to ensure riders and residents can focus on celebrations without the inconvenience of driving through traffic and facing parking issues.”
