Looms Weaves & More, in association with t2, gave city shoppers a chance to kick-start their festive shopping. With a showcase of handloom and handicraft products from various states of the country, the exhibition held at Keshari Devi Kanoria Hall on Southern Avenue was a three-day affair.
“Looms Weaves & More is an exhibition of artisanal, revival and designer wear. It has the best of handmade and handwoven saris and garments made from organic fibre and printed with natural dyes. “As Looms Weaves & More steps into its 10th year, we look back at the amazing journey that we have had in this last decade. When we started in 2014, our exhibition was one of the first of its kind. The curation was done with utmost care and caution so as to achieve our aim of bringing pure, natural, organic fabrics to our buyers. People of Calcutta welcomed us with open arms and showered us with enormous amount of love. Our weavers, artisans and designers travelled great distance to participate with us. We consider ourselves to be privileged that we could contribute in a very small way to hold up India’s rich heritage of handloom and handicraft in our city,” said Sanchita Ghosh, co-organiser, Looms Weaves & More.
