Payal Singhal’s showcase at Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, ‘Painterly’ is easy-breezy, signature Payal, full of cool separates. They can easily fit into your holiday casuals, resort and festive wardrobes. Easy glamour defines them all. “When I started my brand too, I was doing stuff like this and we have evolved over time and grown with every collection in terms of quality of work and the thought process, but this has been the core of the brand from Day One, which is like to create clothes which are made in India by an Indian designer and taking all our arts and crafts and putting them together, but the silhouettes are for girls like us.... It’s relatable. I love dressing up for occasions because we get to do it so rarely now, but it has to be in sync with what we are used to in our day-to-day life. I want pieces to be worn in multiple ways... to a wedding, Sangeet-Mehndi, brunch, a black-tie event, a birthday and... also wear the separates in different ways,” Payal tells The Telegraph.

Brocade lehnga: Payal’s collection featured brocade beauties that had ‘festive’ written all over them. Pair them with chaandbalis, jhumkas or kundan jewellery to step out in your Diwali best.
Sari: Payal’s collection packs in a few saris too. From a resort wedding to cocktails to a Diwali card party, these sexy drapes can multitask. “For me, a sari is timeless and we are doing some beautiful stitched saris which you can’t even say that it is stitched. Girls who don’t wear saris can invest in a stitched sari,” says Payal.
Embroidered pantsuit: A lovely embroidered pantsuit is Payal’s third pick for a rocking Diwali bash. They are not only fuss-free, but also high on the X factor.
Kaftan: A kaftan is Payal’s “all-time favourite”. Comfortable and cool, they are all about relaxed fun.
