We finally have a successor to Let It Go from 2013’s 'Frozen' that is making children and adults dance around the world

The song is quite a departure and something like this was seen with Under The Sea from The Little Mermaid in 1989. Since then, Disney has largely been about big ballads — A Whole New World (Aladdin), Can You Feel the Love Tonight (The Lion King) and Let It Go (Frozen).

Bruno begins with a comedic play between Pepa (Carolina Gaitan) and her husband Felix (Mauro Castillo), who recount how they got married in a hurricane after Tio Bruno suggested there might be rain. Their daughter Dolores (Adassa) offers a breakdown of her uncle’s nightmarish gift — It’s a heavy lift with a gift so humbling / Always left Abuela and the family fumbling / Grappling with prophecies they couldn’t understand.

Even the film’s opening song, The Family Madrigal, deserves praise as it introduces the Madrigals and their magical gifts. The Encanto soundtrack celebrates Colombia’s rich and diverse musical traditions and features some great performances — Colombia Me Encanto by singer-songwriter Carlos Vives and Sebastian Yatra is behind the heart-rending, violin-filled Dos Oruguitas.

When Let It Go appeared nine years ago, downloading music was still big while Spotify was new. So, Let It Go got to No. 5 on the Hot 100 largely through sales. Now, streaming rules the charts, and each time a child logs in to Spotify, this song gets played.
