Organised by the International Coffee Organisation (ICO), International Coffee Day was first celebrated on October 1, 2015, in order to promote fair trade of coffee along with spreading awareness about the struggles of coffee growers around the world. The celebration allows all coffee lovers around the world to learn more about the coffee plant or bean and how it has turned into a refreshing drink. Originated in tropical Africa, coffee beans have been scattered all over the world for more than 600 years and humanity has been preparing coffee in different versions like drinks, candies, medicines and even beauty products. No matter how it’s consumed, coffee fills you up with energy, refreshes you, warms you up or simply keeps you awake. Here are 14 places in the city you can visit to satisfy your coffee needs.

RAASTA: Why choose between coffee and cocktails? The Caribbean-themed pub on Park Street has California Dreaming, which is the perfect drink to transition from day to night as it features vodka, coffee liqueur, ristretto and orgeat syrup. Price: Rs 555

EFFINGUT: The brewpub on Park Street has creme brulee in a cup. Cafe Brulee is a cocktail creation of slowbrewed espresso (80 per cent Arabica and 20 per cent Robusta) with fresh vanilla, aromatic bitters and dark chocolate meets vodka, along with egg white or veg aquafaba (edible foam) for texture. The top is then caramelised with brown sugar, fresh nutmeg and cinnamon with creme brûlée torch and served in a coffee cup and saucer with a flamed marshmallow. Price: Rs 595
