Hard Rock International has once again teamed up with football legend Lionel Messi to launch the new Messi Chicken Sandwich, which is inspired by his favourite Argentinian dishes growing up. The American cafe chain has perfectly timed this gourmet sandwich’s launch with Messi’s entry into the American major soccer club, Inter Miami.
The Messi Chicken Sandwich has been curated by Messi himself, inspired by his favourite food- The Milanesa (an Argentine staple). On the menu, the food item is named The Messi Chicken Sandwich ‘Made For You By Leo Messi’.
“I’m thrilled to bring the flavours of my home country to the world with the launch of my very own chicken sandwich, inspired by one of my favourite dishes, the Milanesa,” said the G.O.A.T, in a press release.
The sandwich launched on July 19 at all Hard Rock Cafe outlets worldwide including HRC Calcutta. “Messi being the greatest of all time and Calcutta being the football-frenzied city, I think the sandwich is a great addition to the menu. We are so excited to be connected to someone so legendary and Hard Rock Cafe is another legendary brand, I think this combination is going to be very exciting. All the ingredients that we are using to make the sandwich are imported to maintain the authenticity of the dish. I hope all the football fans and others try the freshly made Messi Chicken Sandwich only at Hard Rock Cafe,” said Sean Pereira, operational general manager of Hard Rock Cafe, Calcutta.

STEP 1: In the first step, herbed aioli is slathered generously on soft toasted burger buns.
STEP 2: Crunchy and fresh arugula marinated with olive oil and saltwas placed on the herbed aioli.
STEP 3: Crumb-fried tender chicken breasts marinated with Leo Messi’s secret spices are stacked together with bubbling slices of provolone cheese. The fresh tomatoes add more flavour to the sandwich.
