The authentic Bengali restaurant in City Centre Salt Lake, Sonar Tori, is known for its home-style Bengali food. Just like every year, the restaurant is celebrating the much-awaited Hilsa festival called Ilisher Ullash, featuring some unique preparations of the fish. From people’s favourite Shorshe Ilish to Sosha Ilish, Karamcha Ilish and many more, Ilisher Ullash by Sonar Tori has everything to tantalise your taste buds with curated Hilsa dishes. “In this Hilsa festival, we have used some unique flavours from both Epaar Bangla (West Bengal) and Opaar Bangla (Bangladesh) where Ilish is a famous fish cooked in different styles. We have used cucumber and karamcha (Bengal Currant, a kind of sour berry) to create the dishes, which are not generally found in any other F&B places. I hope our patrons come and relish our homemade lost recipe creations,” said Chef Bhaskar Dasgupta of Sonar Tori. t2 gets you the details of the Hilsa festival which is on for a month.
