Situated amongst the sprawling thoroughfare of Calcutta’s tech city, Arabiyano opens doors to patrons intending to embark upon a culinary journey to the Middle East, with rich flavours, exotic spices and refreshing drinks. The 30-seater restaurant houses the best artwork installations inspired by Sufi saints that are in perfect sync with the Arabic spirit of celebrating both food and music. It also houses a cabana that is a perfect ode to the aesthetics of the Gulf, besides ensuring that patrons can come along with their friends and family, embraced in a warm and cosy ambience. t2 checks it out.

Chicken Mandi: Come and revel in food with your family by opting for this wholesome platter that consists of traditional Arabic non-veg rice cooked with chicken jus and saffron. It is further combined with a classic preparation of whole chicken and kebabs making way for a sumptuous treat.

Irani Keema with roti: If you are seeking to see something with greens, this classic dish of Iran is for you. Made using minced mutton cooked in a light green gravy of coriander, chilli, onion and selected spices, you can easily pair this with a delicious flatbread to balance the richness and flavour.

Gosht Khusti Kebab: Dig into tender pieces of rich mutton chops, cooked in Afghani spices and finished with an aromatic jus. The colour of the mutton pieces is reflective of how nicely it is cooked for a generous amount of time.

Kunafehh with Ice Cream: A showstopping ice cream cake, this dessert packs in the much-loved flavours from the Middle East. The cake comprises layers featuring vermicelli, topped with vanilla ice cream and selected dry fruits, i.e., almonds, cashews and pistachios.

“This is true that we have been thinking about curating all variants of not only Arabic but also Middle Eastern cuisines all under one roof. I have even tried to bring people from Middle Eastern countries to our restaurant to justify the authentication factor. What we have additionally done is include an Indian touch to the dishes so that the people here do not miss the Indianness in it. This is the first outlet in Calcutta that boasts of producing seven mutton kebabs and five chicken kebabs with mutton as the highlight. We are also planning to expand our outlets in the city as well as outside the city,” said Devendra Gupta, founder and CEO, Arabiyano.

The restaurant features waiters hailing from places like Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey which is a remarkable addition to the premium dining experience. They can easily describe the dishes helping diners make the right choices.
