Varish Mohta comes out on top at Tolly Classic

Two days of intense action produced some memorable golf at Tollygunge Club

In the latest instalment of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) East Zone Junior Feeder Tour 2024, young golfer Varish Mohta showcased his prowess by clinching victory in the Tolly Classic tournament. Mohta’s exceptional performance saw him secure the top spot in both the A&B category and the B Boys’ category.

Competing at Tollygunge Club between March 3 and 4, Mohta demonstrated remarkable skill and composure throughout the two rounds. Despite facing challenging conditions, he managed to maintain his form, finishing with a five-over-par score of 145.

Ahaan Gupta proved to be a strong contender, securing the second position in the A&B Boys’ category with a commendable score of 147. Meanwhile, in the B Boys’ division, Rayan Sao claimed the runner-up position with a score of 172.

In other categories, Krishiv Rungta emerged victorious in the C Boys’ category with a score of 170, closely followed by Hredaan Raj Bihani with 175. Shaurish Sen claimed the top spot in the D Boys’ category with a score of 208, with Priyansh Dhandhania securing the second position with 215. Aativeer Jain displayed remarkable skill to clinch victory in the E Boys’ category with a score of 109.

Among the girls, Ananya Roy showcased her talent by winning the A&B Girls’ category with a score of 168. The competition was intense in the C&D Girls’ category, with Nahida Parvin emerging victorious over Julinka Roychowdhury in a sudden death play-off, both having scored equally. Amaira Gulati claimed victory in the D Girls’ category with a score of 186, while Vaanyaa Rustagi secured the second position with 205. Ahana Khaitan showcased her skills to win the E Girls’ category with a score of 103, closely followed by Novika Kakkar with 106.

In the overall F category, Jayansh Lakhotia emerged triumphant with a score of 100, while Yugansh Agarwal secured the second position with 110.

The tour’s education partner is The Champ for Life Academy. The outdoor media partner is Balaji Ads, and the online pro shop partner is Golfedge. Bisleri has come in as the water partner for this season. Keventer, Eastern India’s largest FMCG company, is the tour sponsor and provided players with juice and milkshakes. Additionally, Reliable Group is a sponsor. The tour is managed by Protouch Sports.
