Brahma Kumari Sister Shivani graced the FLO-YFLO event ‘Creating a Conscious Future’ last month, at Sangit Kala Mandir. FICCI FLO and YFLO joined hands to present the members with an evening of inspirational talk. The audience listened enthralled and were re-energised to reflect deeply upon their lives and actions for a better future.

Sangeeta Sanghvi and Dhiren Sanghvi set the evening mood right by singing bhajans and hymns. Creating a tranquil ambience, Sister Shivani started her talk by chanting ‘om shanti’. Inception of consciousness begins with calmness and that was how the conversation began. Shakti or power is the foundation that enhances our future course of action in all spheres of our lives. Sister Shivani emphasised and reflected upon the same, implying the significance of the responsibility that an individual holds towards his family and workplace. Shakti is also about having the strength to bestow power to others and this underlying feeling of empowerment is the key towards the much-required introspection and conviction. Quite necessarily, it is also quite significant that we possess the power ourselves to bestow power upon others. ”Power to empower ought to be your go-to slogan. Emotional strength is the need of the hour, especially for our families,” said sister Shivani.

She engaged the audience to rank their level of emotional quotient on a scale of 10 with specific criteria. “However the situation be I can consciously choose my response”, is the first step towards holistic emotional consciousness and empowerment, said Sister Shivani. She also tried to explain the relationship between our emotional quotient and the sustained impact of a certain set of responses that we might receive from various aspects of our lives. She went on to further elaborate on the two frequencies on which we live our lives. One on what we can give and one which we desire to receive.

Stress and anxiety being an integral part of our lives, constantly control our thought processes that underlie our nature of pessimism and optimism. Power to empower is the vibrational energy that all individuals need to possess to operate their lives at a high frequency. Sister Shivani advised that we should not keep our lives in such a low frequency that makes it harder for us to pull others in dire times. The two most important factors necessary now are to pull up the vibration of our house and that of our family members. She drew an analogy with a game of balancing a lemon in a spoon. That is reflective of our conscious focus, priorities and goals that we experience on a daily basis.

In her talk, she also emphasised on the need to enhance our state of being. She said: “Why is it that your child wants to stay alone when they are in pain?” She explained that a person with a low frequency would obviously expect to receive a high frequency from the person sitting next to him or her. That is when they would interact with others to engage in a powerful exchange of positivity and upliftment. So, our state of living or vibration should be such that it enhances the state of vibration of others rather than depleting it. Moreover, people ought to possess the power themselves to comprehend situations without being judgemental.

Talking about attachment and detachment, Sister Shivani said: “Detachment means unconditional love and respect. It does not necessarily mean we should not be attached. The importance of detachment comes in the ground that we are able to lift up the vibration of a person living at a low frequency and vice versa. That calls for unconditional love and respect.”

She further raised the subject of taking care of our emotional health. She said: “Antidepressants and related medicines are not a sign of our success. However, if we are able to pull them up from here it can most promisingly take a U-turn.” She further explained why emotional health ought to be priority and that starts from home. Thus, by trying to keep negative emotions at bay we can ensure to maintain an empowered emotional health. The steps towards transformation are not at all easy. However, it is attainable by taking one step at a time to recharge our batteries and that first step ought to be changing our priorities. “Our priorities ought to be our traditions and our work,” said Sister Shivani as she further elucidated on how we can stop comparisons in our lives right away. One can be the most powerful when they are least dependent upon others. We are the creators of our own emotions, actions and responses and the transparent journey towards consciousness lies on how efficiently we can control them.
