Mio Amore attracted visitors outside the Simpark Mall in New Market with the unique concept of ‘Purple Christmas’ on December 22. Themed on the brand’s signature colour, the decor was in shades of purple and so were the team members. Even Santa wore a purple suit!

The huge, purple Christmas tree was a work of art complete with photo-op spaces and sitting under the tree was purple Santa. Children rushed to Santa, who gave out goodies from the bakery and clicked photographs with them

Tanisha Sk. was elated to meet purple Santa. After the photo-op, the four-year-old said, ‘I came to New Market and loved meeting Santa. I am looking forward to eating some cake this season’

The theme of the event was ‘togetherness’ and several games were organised for groups where group members were randomly selected from the audience but played together and bonded over the game

The fun games included ones like Balance the Ball, Speak in Your Mother Tongue for 30 seconds, Grab It, Treasure Hunt, Ball Relay, Pick Together and participants and onlookers were equally entertained. All participants walked away with a prize

Razia Sultana had come to New Market with her son Md. Yasin. She participated in Balance the Ball and emerged as part of the winning team. Speaking about the experience she said, ‘I loved playing the game. It was my first time and I won’

A curious case of ‘Santa meets Santa’ took place when the little Santa in a red coat met the purple Santa. Four-year-old Saanvi came to meet Santa with her mother Tanima Paul. Saanvi said, “Felt very nice meeting Santa. I have a gift list ready for Christmas,” to which her mother Tanima added, “She has already given me a gift list and we are ticking things off it”

Akash Roy, the man behind the purple Santa outfit said, “I am very excited and happy to see Christmas come back properly after two years. I would wish that Santa fulfils my and other people’s dreams in life”
