After a busy day of multiple informative sessions moderated and participated in by some of the stalwarts from the country’s F&B industry, the NRAI Indian Restaurant Summit 2023 took things a notch higher with a rocking night on the river Hooghly aboard The Bengal Paddle. Fireworks, shots, sips, songs and dance, and great grub made for a happening night as the who’s who of the country’s restaurant fraternity let their hair down.
The summit received distinguished guests, including Firhad Hakim, mayor of Calcutta, who acknowledged the summit’s significance in fostering economic progress. Nandini Chakravorty, IAS, principal secretary, department of tourism, emphasised the pivotal role of the restaurant industry in the economic growth of Bengal.
“The NRAI summit heralds an era where gastronomy meets nation-building. It transcends the realm of food; it’s about cultivating an environment where the Indian restaurant industry thrives, addressing pressing issues like licensing, GST input, and, most importantly, becoming a potent force propelling our nation’s economic growth,” said Kabir Suri, president, NRAI.
