Bringing together the two national passions of cricket and food, National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), Kolkata Chapter, hosted its maiden season of NRAI Premier League, in association with The Telegraph at Orchid Garden from January 30 to February 3. Participated by members of the restaurant fraternity, the cricket tournament was held in Staff League and Owners League categories. A special exhibition match played between Dotpe from New Delhi and NRAI Kolkata Chapter received enthusiastic response from participants and audience alike. In the Staff League, 23 staff teams from eminent restaurants played against one another for cash prizes. Team Wow Momo won gold, Team The Dugout silver and Team M-Bar won the bronze titles respectively. Participated by 80 stalwarts from the food industry, the coveted winner’s trophy in the Owners League was taken by Olterra Titans owned by Rudresh Agarwal. Wow Momo Warriors, owned by Sagar Daryani, were the runners-up. The closing ceremony was graced by former India cricketer Piyush Chawla and fitness expert Ranadeep Moitra. Snapshots.
