Portathon— The Kolkata Port Run, with t2, was held on a chilly winter morning. Organised by Priyadarshini Hakim, the marathon was named ‘portathon’ because it started from St. Thomas School grounds in Kidderpore, the port area of the city, and spanned across Kidderpore’s bascule bridge, flyovers, riversides and other landmarks in Central Calcutta, epitomising a fusion of athleticism and cultural exploration. The 14K and 7K runs witnessed a footfall of over 2,000 participants who gathered at the venue sharp at 5am.

Beyond the physical challenge, the marathon showcased the resilience and spirit of Calcutta’s running enthusiasts and summarised the essence of unity. An album.
