The Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC) inaugurated the 3rd edition of the AMI Arts Festival, the annual arts festival of the organisation, on December 17. RS Goenka, co-founder & jt. chairman, Emami Group; Aditya Agarwal, director, Emami Group; Debasish Sen, managing director, HIDCO, Amanda Strohan, Dy. High Commissioner, High Commission of Canada, New Delhi; Nick Low, Deputy High Commissioner, British High Commission, Kolkata; Bibhas Chakraborty, eminent theatre personality; Jogen Chowdhury, eminent visual artist; Padmashree Niranjan Goswami, founder & director, The National Mime Institute; Richa Agarwal, chairperson, Kolkata Centre for Creativity and Reena Dewan, director, Kolkata Centre for Creativity were present at the inauguration.
Grammy winner Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Anjan Dutt, film director, actor, and singer-songwriter performed at the event. Subhadeep Guha’s folk performance, titled Slopes to Sea, was also a part of the inaugural function. The festival, which is taking place at Rabindra Tirtha, will continue till December 25. The event is open to all from 12pm to 8pm.
Richa Agarwal, chairperson, KCC, said, “It is not surprising that all of us seek some form of art in our daily lives. Art is as natural as the air we breathe. This free-for-all 9 days festival at Rabindra Tirtha has distinct programmes, each of which is equally fun, engaging and intellectually curated to gauge every art lover’s attention.”
