Professional hair care and hairstyling brand Godrej Professional, part of Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL), launched its new hair Botox treatment called Botosmooth at Hyatt Regency Kolkata on March 5. Botosmooth would be available for consumers across popular salons in Bengal. At the launch, the professional salon brand showcased hairstyling with Botox treatment, which provided an in-depth understanding to more than 100 salonists and stylists who attended the workshop which aimed at not only revolutionising hair care and hairstyling experiences but also the brand’s commitment to keep upgrading professionals with the latest innovations in the industry.
Botox hair treatment has been around for quite some time and gained momentum in the last few years in the beauty industry. This trending treatment is a deep-conditioning process that coats the hair fibre with Keratin and collagen, repairs the breakage and thin areas on each hair strand and replaces or fills in the lost cuticle layers, making the hair more voluminous, rejuvenated and lustrous. This treatment is not to be confused with straightening and smoothening services as Botox may not give you the desired result of permanent, poker-straight hair, especially if you have curly or very wavy hair.
The brand claims Botosmooth aims at working in areas of revitalising and restoring damaged hair. Botosmooth is enriched with a blend of nourishing nutri oils, including argan oil, grape seed oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, and shea butter. The demonstration showed all the steps of the treatment
Brazilian hairstylist Filipe Rabelo demonstrated the treatment and interacted with Delhi-based hair expert Najeeb Ur Rehman, Botosmooth and Kerasmooth ambassador at Godrej Professional, on the benefits of Botox hair treatment.
“Botox is for everyone, for every kind of hair texture. If somebody is coming to me with any kind of challenges in the hair like frizz and they need a little extra volume, shine and all those things, I prefer doing this. Every day I keep doing one or two,” said Najeeb.
Filipe noted: “Back home in Brazil it’s very popular. Botox treatment was first introduced in Brazil before it became widely popular. It makes the lives of people very easy. It’s a good hair day for them every day.”
Najeeb added: “In every treatment, there are a lot of dos and don’ts but in Botox, there are fewer dos and don’ts and anybody can do it. The benefit of going for this treatment is that you can simultaneously opt for hair colouring, highlighting, and any other chemical treatments. Many people think it’s only for frizz reduction but it can achieve up to 100 per cent natural straightening effects. The results would be long-lasting up to 60 washes.”
