Folk art and culture celebration at Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre

Bengali New Year celebrations included folk music and dance

The Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India took special initiative to promote folk art and culture of West Bengal on the occasion of Poila Baisakh or Bengali New Year, 1430 on April 16 and 17

Many folk artistes from Birbhum, including Gaudiya, Santal, Gomira dancers and Baul singers participated

Governor CV Ananda Bose took special interest to showcase the Bengali traditional art and craft culture as well as the sweet delicacies to the NOBOBORSHO fair.

The programme was inaugurated by the Governor

EZCC director, Ashis Kumar Giri, who is also a folk singer, said,
