A media partner of the recent sci-fi time-travel drama Dobaaraa, The Telegraph held a special contest for its readers and the winners met the cast — Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati — as well as the film’s producer Ekta Kapoor at a special meet-and-greet session at The Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata. Chit-chat and selfies dominated the interaction.

“Taapsee is stunning, with so much talent and so many excellent films under her belt. I admire her for her hard work and the fact that she is self-made. I’m inspired by her confidence and apply it to my work as well,” said Simran Kapur (extreme right), entrepreneur of a home bakery called Cookey Monkey. Simran also gifted some of her baked goods to the cast of Dobaara, with Taapsee, Pavail and Ekta immediately going chomp-chomp!

For Saptarshi Ghosh (extreme left) the experience was “exciting”. “I am planning to watch Dobaaraa this weekend, ” the banker told The Telegraph later. Ashish Harbhajanka (extreme right) has already watched the movie and found it “exciting which keeps the audience hooked”. “Anurag Kashyap’s direction is the USP of the film. While the meeting with Team Dobaara was short, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I am a big Taapsee fan because her choice of movies is very versatile,” beamed Ashish, a student.

Avid The Telegraph reader Sangeeta Ghosh Dastidar (left) snapped a quick selfie with Taapsee and Ekta. “It was my dream come true to meet Taapsee and I am thrilled to have received the opportunity. I am a big fan and I absolutely love the inspiring characters that she plays on screen. I have not watched Dobaara yet but plan to catch it this weekend,” smiled Sangeeta, a teacher.

Abhishek Chakraborty, a senior tax assistant in the Income Tax Department, made time to be a part of the tete-a-tete. “I have been a fan of Taapsee’s from the day she would feature in a lot of south Indian films. Her Pink is one of my favourites. Since I am a sports fanatic, I also enjoyed Rashmi Rocket and Shabaash Mithu. “I have watched Dobaaraa and I loved it. The film is shouldered by Taapsee and she was well supported by Pavail as well as the child actor (Arrian Sawant). This film is a must watch,” said Abhishek.
