1/5 The theme at Mitra Sangha Durga Puja pandal in Behala is ‘Manot’, based on the Bhil tribe of India. According to artist Tapashi Saha Chakraborty, the tribe in central India is known for their high social status of women and that culture would be portrayed in the pandal. ‘Besides, there is a unique ritual among Bhils. They pray to Ma Durga with paintings and artworks. That’s why several paintings of such style would be displayed at the pandal

Though the theme has been kept a closely guarded secret, the Puja will put up anti-ragging posters, kiosks and audio-visual presentations showing the harmful effects of ragging in the backdrop of the Jadavpur University hostel incident. The posters would also send the message that the identity of the complainant will remain undisclosed
