The winner of the Innovation Excellence Award was given to Artemis Fountain Foundation, an organisation that works towards the empowerment of the girl child. The first runner-up in the category was Arogyam Medisoft Solution, a digital solutions company for healthcare and agriculture, and the second runner-up was Promises Marketing, a weighing scale company. “It is an honour. Making sure that the weighing machines we use are certified is very important. We must safeguard ourselves from fraud,” cautioned Rakesh Bhatia, founder of Promises Marketing.

The Calcutta Management Association held its maiden MSME Conclave and Awards Ceremony, in association with t2, at HHI on January 19. The event honoured and felicitated pioneers of the manufacturing and services sector, and saw the presence of MSMEs from 10 eastern states of India — West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura. Divided into five different categories — Best Employer, Innovation Excellence, Best Social Impact, Environmental Sustainability, and Digital Prowess at the Workplace — the awards were meant to recognise and celebrate the diverse strengths and contributions of MSMEs in various aspects of business excellence and societal impact.

G.M. Kapur, president, CMA, said, “The CMA wants to help MSMEs develop and grow, and we can provide a platform for them to access training in whatever fields they require. We have all the necessary inputs to provide them with wherever knowledge is concerned. Like our motto, we want to ‘profit the mind’.”
