The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry celebrated its annual night with a specially curated fashion walk that celebrated Bengal’s craftsmanship. Held on September 29 at The Oberoi Grand, Defile De Mode Celebrate Haute saw members of BCC&I walk the ramp in ethnic ensembles designed by Amalin Datta and Kanaklata Datta of Sharbari Studio and Abhisek Ray of Asquare Creations. The show was choreographed by Shubha Kenworthy. Tathagata Sengupta, Shreejata Kar and Chiranjib Nath from Picasso Events started the evening with a musical performance and sang Bollywood classics for the ramp walk. The walk was followed by lots of fun conversations, selfies and dinner. t2 witnessed it all.

Donning a silk kurta by Sharbari Studio, Basu said: “This is the second time we are walking the runway organised by The Bengal Chamber on the annual night. It gives us great pleasure in showcasing the marvellous works of our artisans and weavers in ensembles by homegrown designers.”

(middle) Simarpreet Singh, director of JIS Group, walked the ramp with his wife Aakanksha Kaur.

(right) Vipul Chaturvedi, GM East, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, walked the ramp with his wife Mudita Chaturvedi. While Vipul was in Sharbari Studio’s designer kurta, Mudita looked elegant in a silk sari by Asquare Creations.
