To mark 135 years of excellence in craftsmanship, heritage and enduring customer relationships, B.C. Sen Jewellers organised a grand celebration in the presence of distinguished guests at the ITC Royal Bengal on June 25.
Representing a confluence of various cultures, traditions and customs, that also reflects the brand’s identity and designs, the programme featured a specially-curated fashion show, the launch of a new collection and a musical soiree.
Comprising four rounds, Diamonds Forever, the first round of the fashion show, was all about celebrating the timeless elegance of diamond jewellery. It showcased classic and sophisticated creations in diamonds, from delicate necklaces to dazzling earrings and exquisite rings. The showstopper for this round was B.C. Sen Jewellers' brand ambassador and actor Susmita Chatterjee.
Regal, the next round, was inspired by Indian temples and palaces. The grandeur and spiritual essence of India was captured through jewellery designs that paid tribute to antique Indian art forms, sculptures and other timeless motifs. Model Sneha Ghosh was the showstopper for this round.
Banglar Gohona was a round that unveiled the rich and unique karigari of the traditional jewellery designs of Bengal, which is mainly associated with heirloom pieces. Women achievers from diverse fields, including Sreenanda Shankar, Moubani Sorcar, Jaya Seal Ghosh, Dola Banerjee, Anuttama Banerjee and Devlina Kumar, walked the ramp to showcase jewellery designs that have stood the test of time and will continue to charm for generations to come.
The final round, called Brides of India, showcased collections for the contemporary Indian bride, who prefers smartly-designed, light jewellery that is traditional in design but at the same time, fashionable and trendy. Models dressed as Marwari, Gujarati, Punjabi, South Indian and Christian brides walked the ramp looking beautiful in their bridal wear and jewellery. Susmita Chatterjee, dressed as a Bengali bride, stole the show for this round as well.
The evening’s celebration also witnessed the launch of Ami, a range of lightweight gold and diamond jewellery by B.C. Sen Jewellers. The collection defines the jewellery choices of confident, fashion-conscious women who have subtle tastes and wear jewellery that projects exclusivity and class. Actor Sanjana Banerjee was announced as the face of Ami.
A highlight of the evening’s programme was a music recital presented by the pianist-vocalist duo of Sourendro and Soumyojit.
In celebration of its 135th anniversary, a three-day exhibition of an exclusive, limited edition collection of non-replicable jewellery in gold, kundan, jadau, polki and diamonds, alongside B.C. Sen Jewellers’ traditional, antique, fusion and innovative ranges were hosted at Dooars Banquet, ITC Royal Bengal, that continued till July 2.
