Sasthi at Kewpie’s

The touch of homeliness in a Durga Puja feast adds to the traditional fervour of the festival. That’s what you experience at Rakhi Purnima Dasgupta’s Kewpie’s kitchen. On its 25th year, the Durgotsab menu brings to you an array of Bengali thalas from amish to niramish, that will give the barir ranna feeling in a more than a century-old heritage house. A la carte menu is also available. To serve more people, the menu will also be available at The Food Storey’s event ‘Jalkhabar’ from October 20 to 24.

Saptami at 6 Ballygunge Place

Break into a perfectly puffed luchi and relish it with some Kosha Aloor Dum, and create a symphony of flavours with Kaju Kishmish Pulao and some Gota Moshla Dum Mangsho at 6 Ballygunge Place. The popular Bengali restaurant chain, which turned 25 this year, has come up with a special menu for each day of pujo. With about 20 items on the menu, Saptami buffet at 6BP is something you wouldn’t want to miss. Plus, there’s a Bati Chorchori and Mochar Ghonto for vegetarian options! You can also try special thalis specially curated for the five days of Durga Puja at 6 Ballygunge Place Thali outlets, including the newest outlet in Kolaghat.

Ashtami at Polo Floatel

Ashtami holds a special place in our hearts and we want to wear the best of our attire and eat the best of the food. This year, make Ashtami a memorable affair with Polo Floatel’s extravagant dining experience with a view of the Ganges and baul music. The Polo Floatel’s Durga Puja special buffet also has some interesting items to offer. To recreate childhood memories of Durga Puja, Polo Floatel has come up with an array of phol makhas (a chaat of fruits) from Aamloki Makha and Peyara Makha to Batabi Lebu Makha, Aam Makha and Aamra Makha. Additionally, you will get a good option of chaats and bhortas. For the main course they have items in mutton, fish and chicken!

Navami at Oh! Calcutta

Oh! Calcutta is the perfect amalgamation of fine dining and authentic Bengali food. Keeping in mind that the Navami feast should be a grand affair, the ‘Pujor Mohabhoj Buffet’ from Oh! Calcutta is a perfect ode to Bangali’s pet pujo. Start with Kolkata’s favourite Chingri Cutlet, Dimer Devil and more. Enjoy the tender mutton in the Mangshor Jhol with some long-grained Basmati rice or relish a serving of succulent Chingri Malai Curry with a traditional Kaju Kishmish Pulao. For dessert, authentic Bengali sweets like Totapuli, Kheerer Chop and Rosomundir Payesh will satiate your Bangali sweet tooth!

Dashami at Aaheli

As pujo comes to an end, the Dashami blues kick in and the countdown for the next year begins. It is the day for some last-minute plans with friends and family. So to make it memorable, indulge in an elaborate Durga Puja menu for one last time. Our pick for Dashami is Aaheli’s Bonedi Bari-style Mahabhoj thali. The Bengali non-veg and veg thali with over 19 items has everything from luchi-alur dum and kosha mangsho to mishti doi and rosogolla.
