Plastic surgery facility is going to be set up at the government-run MGM medical college hospital shortly.

Though the facility will be available primarily for the cured burn patients, the facility will also be available free of cost for others who turn up to get their face deformity corrected.

Revealing about the step, superintendent, MGM medical college hospital, Arun Kumar informed that a state of the art facility for carrying out plastic surgery is going to be set up soon.

"For bringing in a viable plastic surgery unit here at the medical college hospital, an exclusive operation theatre will be set up soon and the necessary equipment purchased soon, " said Kumar while talking to The Telegraph Online.

He pointed out that the medical college hospital has a team of surgeons having expertise in the field of plastic surgery and the only thing required was an exclusive OT and necessary equipment which the hospital authority will made available shortly.

The hospital superintendent revealed that the state government had recently sanctioned Rs 11.5 crore to the medical college hospital for the enhancement of treatment standard in the hospital. He stated that the OT for the plastic surgery and medical equipment needed for the plastic surgery facility will be provided from the said fund.

Kumar, when asked, said that scores of patients suffering from the burn injuries would happen to visit private hospitals to get ride of scars or any other deformity.

"Many a patients from extremely poor financial background have to live with burn scars or deformity rest of their lives. But such people can easily get back to their original shape and beauty by availing the plastic surgery facility, " the hospital superintendent pointed out.
