Lions Club donates protective gear for Seraikela-Kharsawan

Around 500 PPE kits donated so far, club assures administration of more aid if required

The Lions Club unit, District 332 A, donated 50 personal protective equipment (PPE) kits to Seraikela-Kharsawan deputy commissioner A. Dodde at a function organised at his office on Thursday .

Former district governor of Lions Club, Rajnish Kumar, said Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), one of the leading funding agencies of the world, has extended a helping hand in the fight against Covid-19, by providing an emergency grants of $10,000 in various Lion Club districts where the coronavirus cases have gone beyond 100.

Earlier this month, the club had donated 100 PPE kits to the East Singhbhum district administration where Covid-19 positive cases had crossed the 340 mark. The count is around 40 in Seraikela- Kharsawan district and is increasing every passing day.

Former district governors of Lions Club International Rajiv Ranjan and Rajnish Kumar, along with regional chairperson Pranati Das, zone chairperson Vimmi Ranjan and senior members Seema Bajpai, Sanjay Pandey and Archana Verma, handed over the PPE kits to the deputy commissioner with an assurance that more would be provided if required.

Lions Club has so far donated 70 PPE kits to Koderma, 50 each to Garhwa, Daltonganj, Ranchi, Hazaribagh and Dhanbad, and 35 to Ramgarh.

East Singhbhum got 100 PPE kits while West Singhbhum got 50.

The club will donate PPE kits in Deoghar, Dumka, Daltonganj, Garhwa and Gumla as well.

Club members said the PPEs have been manufactured by a vendor of the Mafatlal Group.
