BIT-Sindri 1991-95 B Tech batch celebrates silver jubilee

They take a trip down memory lane reliving memories of their stint with the institute

Over 60 alumni of B Tech (1991-95) batch of the lone state run engineering college of Jharkhand, BIT- Sindri who congregated at the their alma mater during the day to celebrate the silver jubilee of their passing out, relived their old memories.

The alumni were spell bound witnessing the whole range of infrastructure development work that took place over the last 25 years ever since the left the institute, including the three new hostels, an IT building as well as teachers' hostel.

They also lauded changes in syllabus, change in the course nomenclatures, launching of the incubation centre for promoting start ups and entrepreneurial activities, launching of the centre of excellence for 6 G Technology carried out in association with CTIF Denmark, MoU carried out with Aarhus University of Denmark, launching of Centre of excellence of Siemens India comprising of 20 hi tech labs.

The day began at the campus with the former students meeting the director of the institute, DK Singh holding discussion about the ongoing development activities and assured all support on their behalf in terms fund and liaisioning support for the further growth of their alma mater. They also suggested to Singh to ensure the national and international presence of the institute through improvement in quality of education, ensuring better intake of students through all India competitions and also facilitating proper branding of the institute by highlighting its strength and positive side.

The meeting with director was followed by the campus visit of the former students during which they went to different hostels, academic buildings, labs, incubation cell, placement office, playground etc.

One of the participating alumnus, Vijay Choudhary who is also Managing director of Unicharm India Pvt Ltd said, “Visiting the institute which shaped our career and life 25 years ago is a great experience and more pleasant is feeling of meeting out classmates and roommates in same campus."

Kamayani Shreshtha, another alumnus who is an image consultant said, “We can’t express the feeling of dining together, loitering aimlessly at the alma mater with our batch-mates after so many years.”
