Arjun Munda in Bokaro; conducts review of aspirational district scheme

Union minister instructs round the clock supply of clean drinking water and electricity to all the schools under programme

Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda who was on a whirlwind tour of Bokaro on Sunday, conducted review of ongoing development work under central government and instructed the officials of social welfare, health and education department to work in close coordination.

Munda who was accompanied by Dhanbad MP PN Singh during the meeting held with the officials of district administration led by Kuldip Chaudhary, Bokaro Deputy Commissioner, also instructed officials to ensure round the clock supply of clean drinking water and electricity to all the schools under the programme.

Notably 19 districts of Jharkhand including Bokaro, Chatra, East Singhbhum, Dumka, Garhwa, Giridih, Godda, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Latehar, Lohardaga, Pakur, Palamu, Ranchi, Sahibganj, Simdega, West Singhbhum, Khunti and Ramgarh are included in the aspirational district programme which aims to transform the most underdeveloped districts across the country. The programme under which monthly delta ranking of different districts is carried out aims to seek convergence of central and state government schemes to ensure their development which is measured through different socio economic indicators like, Health & Education, nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources.

Munda who inspected a park developed by Chas Municipal Corporation in Camp II area of Bokaro under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), said, “The central government under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative aims to develop 75 large water reservoirs in different parts of country, including in Bokaro which is aims to effectively recharge the groundwater in these areas."

He also instructed the Bokaro officials to work with meticulous planning in this direction to develop the reservoir in Bokaro.

While reviewing the financial inclusion and skill development schemes during the meeting he lauded the work of skill development of members of women Self Help Group being carried out in the district through Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) and instructed them to further accelerate the training programme for skill development.

Munda also instructed the district administration to provide lease of forest land forest dweller tribal people under the right to community forest resources keeping in view their culture and lifestyle.

Munda as part of the meeting also interacted with members of different women self help groups of Patarwar and Chas block of Bokaro and took details of training received by them and loans availed for self entrepreneurship initiative and consequent increase in their income following the training etc
