Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said Opposition leaders should “drown” in shame for accusing the BJP of diverting attention away from the country’s real problems by harping on Article 370.

“Look at their shamelessness. They are openly going around saying what the connection between Article 370 and Maharashtra is,” Modi told a rally in Akola.

On Tuesday, NCP leader Sharad Pawar had told a rally: “The BJP doesn’t have anything concrete to show so they are harping on abrogation of Article 370.”

Modi said the Opposition was against “Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat (one India, great India)”. “Tell me: are you happy Article 370 is gone? …Has Modi done the right thing? … Am I not fulfilling your wishes? Will your best wishes be with me forever?” he asked as the crowd chanted in agreement.
