- Death toll: 27
- Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli are three worst affected districts
- More than 260 temporary relief camps set up
- 12 rescue teams of the navy deployed in Sangli. The NDRF has sent 29 teams.
Floods in Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra have wreaked havoc across several districts.
Home minister Amit Shah on Friday called for a high level meeting to review the flood situation in the country. The Met department has warned that Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan are “expected to receive heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours”.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has said that 83 of its teams are involved in rescue in different parts of the country. In addition to this, 173 teams of the army, navy, air force and coast guard have been deployed, according to the home ministry.
Kerala
- Death toll: 22
- Red alert in nine districts, among which are Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad
- Wayanad is the worst affected district
- Cochin International airport has suspended operations until Sunday
- There are 315 relief camps with 22,165 people. 105 relief camps only in Wayanad that have 10,000 displaced people

Karnataka
- Death toll: 9
- Malnad or Malenadu region’s several districts are flooded. The district Belagavi is the worst hit. Other inundated areas are in Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Raichur, Yadgiri, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamoga, Kodagu and Chikkamagalur
- More than 1,24,000 people evacuated by joint teams
- 272 relief camps set up
- 11 NDRF teams in action, nine more enroute, along with 11 teams of the army and two teams of the state disaster response force.
