Rains wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh, promting landslides that closed vital routes and pulled down houses, killing at least 35 people. Seven of them were trapped under the rubble of a temple after a landslide in Shimla on August 14.

More people are feared to be trapped beneath the temple rubble. The temple was filled with worshippers observing prayers during a significant day of the Sawan period.
Many vehicles were damaged as tree branches fell on them, breaking windshields.
In Balera panchayat, tragedy struck when a makeshift house collapsed due to a landslide, claiming the lives of two children.
On August 13 night, one person was carried away by the flood waters, while two others were saved. Railway track has been washed away due to the heavy rain in Shimla.
People in Mandi region have been advised to move to safe places. Seven members of a single family got buried after a house collapsed in the region.
As a consequence of heavy rains trees have fallen on roads, disrupting commute.
The state's emergency operation centre reported that a total of 752 roads were closed due to rain related disasters.
The weather department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall on August 15, with expectations of continued wet weather until August 18.
