India strongly trashed the criticism against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), including by the United States, and said "vote-bank politics" should not determine views about a "laudable initiative" to help those in distress. His strong comments at a media briefing came when asked about the criticism against the CAA from Washington and various other parts of the globe.

State Bank of India is 'duty bound' and has to disclose the unique alpha numeric numbers of the electoral bonds received by political parties, the Supreme Court said on Friday while seeking a response from the bank for not doing so. All details have to be furnished by the SBI, the CJI observed a day after the Election Commission put out the entire list of entities that have purchased electoral bonds for making political donations.

A day after stating that Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had a fall at her Kalighat residence "due to some push from behind" leading to injuries on forehead and nose, state-run SSKM Hospital director Manimoy Bandyopadhyay clarified that all he meant was that the CM may have felt "a sensation of push". Bandypadhyay's "push from behind" theory sparked large-scale confusion and speculations over the cause of the Trinamul Congress supremo's fall.

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case registered against former Chief Minister and BJP stalwart B S Yediyurappa was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further probe. The complainant alleged that the incident took place on February two when her daughter went with her to meet Yediyurappa at his residence.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin is prominent among the INDIA bloc leaders, who will attend the concluding rally of the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Mumbai, a Congress leader said.
