Congress claimed that the rear window pane of Rahul Gandhi's car got smashed when sudden brakes were applied as a woman came in front of the vehicle in West Bengal's Malda district. Earlier in the day, state Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had claimed that the car was allegedly 'pelted with stones' by unidentified individuals during the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Malda district.

Varanasi district court granted the family of a late priest the right to worship Hindu deities in the Gyanvapi mosque cellar, Hindu side counsel Madan Mohan Yadav said. According to the petition, priest Somnath Vyas used to perform prayers there till 1993 when the cellar was closed by the authorities.

Amid heavy security cover, ED officials began questioning Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren at his residence in Ranchi for the second time in less than a fortnight, in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has lodged an FIR against senior ED personnel at the SC/ST police station in Delhi, an official said.

After the Enforcement Directorate issued a fresh summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said its legal team is studying the notice and will take a decision in accordance with law. It is understood that the fresh summons was for February 2.

RBI barred Paytm Payments Bank Ltd from accepting deposits or top-ups in any customer account, prepaid instruments, wallets, and FASTags, among others after February 29, 2024. These reports revealed persistent non-compliances and continued material supervisory concerns in the bank, warranting further supervisory action, the RBI said in a statement.

Supreme Court refused to allow a 26-year-old woman, who had lost her husband in October last year, to terminate her over 32-week pregnancy, saying the medical board has held that there were no abnormalities in the foetus. Advocate Amit Mishra, appearing for the woman, said if she is to give birth then it will be against her wish and and that she will have to bear the trauma throughout her life.
