A Qatar Court has commuted the death sentence given to eight former Indian Navy personnel in an alleged case of espionage, the External Affairs Ministry said. The eight former personnel of the Indian Navy, arrested in an alleged case of espionage, were given the death sentence by Qatar’s Court of First Instance in October.

Purchase of three plots of land in Haryana in 2005-06 by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra from a real estate agent is being probed along with a land deal made by his wife Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the ED claimed in a recently filed money laundering case charge-sheet. Though Robert Vadra and Priyanka Gandhi, a Congress general secretary, have not been named as accused in the charge-sheet, this is the first time that they have been named together in the complaint.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted simultaneous raids at nine different places in the city in connection with its investigation into the alleged teachers' recruitment scam, a senior official said. The search operations started following a tip-off from a person who was arrested in connection with the ED's probe into the cow smuggling scam.

Ayodhya railway junction in Uttar Pradesh has been renamed as Ayodhya Dham junction, local MP Lallu Singh said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the redeveloped station and newly built airport in the temple town on December 30.

The death toll in the accident involving a private bus which caught fire after a collision with a dumper in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district rose to 13, an official said. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ordered the suspension of a transport official and the chief medical officer of Guna for alleged negligence in connection with the accident involving a bus which caught fire after colliding with a dumper.

Online food delivery firm Zomato Ltd has been served a Rs 401.7 crore GST liability show cause notice over delivery charges, the company said in a regulatory filing. The company has received a Show Cause Notice (SCN) on December 26, 2023 under Section 74(1) of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence, Pune Zonal Unit, it said in a regulatory filing.

A complaint was filed at a police station here on Wednesday against Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and his family members for allegedly hurting religious sentiments over a viral video showing them celebrating Christmas. Sanjay Tiwari, who filed the complaint at Ghatkopar police station through his lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra, claimed that in the video the actor is seen pouring liquor on cake and setting it on fire while saying 'Jai Mata Di'.
