Three Congress MPs were suspended from the Lok Sabha for the remainder of the Winter session for unruly behaviour, taking the total number of members of the lower House against whom such action has been taken to 100. "This House having taken serious note of misconduct of Deepak Baij, D K Suresh, Nakul Nath in utter disregard to the House and authority of the Chair through display of placards, entering into the Well of the House...may be suspended from the House for remaining session," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said.

Delhi court extended till January 5 the police custody of four accused arrested in the Parliament security breach case. Delhi police have taken into custody a youth from Karnataka in connection the security breach in Parliament, official sources said. Police has questioned two more people in connection with the Parliament security breach case, sources said.

Government has decided to hand over 'comprehensive' security of the Parliament building complex to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in the wake of the recent breach of the safety ring, official sources said. Earlier, frisking of visitors to Parliament complex was done by Delhi Police personnel.

INDIA bloc MPs marched from Parliament to Vijay Chowk in New Delhi to protest the suspension of Opposition lawmakers, with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had violated parliamentary privilege by not speaking on the security breach issue inside the House.  Kharge said it is the right of the opposition to speak in a democracy and as representatives of people it is the legislators' responsibility to convey the sentiments of the people in Parliament.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal skipped the second summons issued by the ED, alleging they were issued at the behest of political rivals who wish to silence the voice of the opposition. Kejriwal sent his reply to the ED in which he said the summons do not specify whether he was being called as 'a witness or a suspect' or as the 'chief minister, Delhi or the Aam Aadmi Party's national convener'.

Income Tax department has recovered around Rs 70 lakh in cash from the residence of Trinamul Congress MLA Bayron Biswas during a search there in connection with alleged evasion of taxes, a senior official said. "We have recovered cash amounting to Rs 70 lakh during the raid in Bayron Biswas' residence. There was no clarity on why such a huge amount of money was kept there," the official said.

World Health Organization said that northern Gaza has been left without a functional hospital due to a lack of fuel, staff and supplies. Only nine out of 36 health facilities were partially functional in the whole of Gaza, according to the WHO. All these facilities are concentrated in the enclave's south.
