The National Investigation Agency arrested two key conspirators in a 2022 blast case amid an attack on the probe agency's team by a crowd in West Bengal's East Medinipore district, an official said. Today's incident brought back memories of January 5 when three officials of the Enforcement Directorate were attacked by a mob in North 24 Parganas district's Sandeshkhali during a search on the premises of then Trinamool Congress leader Shajahan Sheikh in connection with alleged irregularities in the public distribution system.

China is likely to deploy Artificial Intelligence-generated content via social media to sway public opinion to boost its geopolitical interests during elections in countries like India, South Korea and the US, tech giant Microsoft has warned. South Koreans will go to the polls in a general election on April 10 while the US will hold the Presidential election on November 5.

Virtually equating the Congress with the Muslim League, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the grand old party's election manifesto reflects the same thought as that of the Muslim League at the time of the freedom movement. "A number of great personalities were associated with the Congress. The name of Mahatma Gandhi was associated with the Congress. The Congress, which is left today, neither has policies in the interest of the nation nor vision for the nation's development," Prime Minister Modi said.

Iran vowed to avenge Israel’s killing of senior commanders and other officers of its elite Quds Force, at a public funeral held for the dead men, elevating fears of open war but leaving unsaid how it would retaliate or when. According to an Israeli official, Israel has also placed its military on high alert, cancelled leave for combat units, recalled some reservists to air defence units and blocked GPS signals.

CBI has busted a racket of child traffickers by arresting seven members who were selling children to childless couples through social media ads and rescued two infants during the operation, officials said. The gang allegedly contacted childless couples desirous of adopting babies through advertisement, on social media platforms like Facebook page and WhatsApp groups.

All 21 employees of SAIL’s Bokaro steel plant, who were kept under medical observation after a fire broke out this morning, are stable, an official said. There was no report of any fatality, the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) official said.

As many as 47 students from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) here have been hospitalised after they complained of loose stools and dehydration, officials said. Out of these, 28 are in Trauma Care Centre, 13 are in H Block and three are in ICU for observation.
