After the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO announced the launch of Aditya-L1 spacecraft to study the Sun on September 2 at 11.50 am from the Sriharikota spaceport. It will be the first dedicated Indian space mission for observations of the Sun to be launched by the Bengaluru-headquartered space agency. The Aditya-L1 mission, aimed at studying the Sun from an orbit around the L1, would carry seven payloads to observe the photosphere, chromosphere and the outermost layers of the Sun, the corona, in different wavebands.

The sister of a Dalit youth, who was allegedly beaten to death by a group of people in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district, claimed her mother was also stripped by the accused during the incident, but police did not register a report in that connection. A Congress delegation on Monday met the family of the Dalit youth, who was allegedly beaten to death on August 24 by a group of people over an old enmity.

The Nuh administration allowed 15 seers and leaders of right-wing groups to offer prayers at the Shiv temple in Nalhar area of Nuh in Haryana which has been turned into a fortress in view of Sarv Jatiya Hindu Mahapanchayat's call for a 'shobha yatra'. Heavy security arrangements have been put in place in view of the call for the yatra and some seers heading towards Nuh were stopped at Gurugram.

An FIR was lodged against Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair in Muzaffarnagar for allegedly disclosing the identity of a minor boy, who was slapped by his classmates on the instruction of a teacher at Khubbapur village of the district. On Friday, a video of the school teacher Tripta Tyagi had gone viral in which a Muslim student of Class 2, was seen being slapped by his classmates for allegedly not doing his homework, leading to widespread condemnation.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said BJP might conduct the Lok Sabha polls in December itself, claiming that all choppers have been booked by the saffron party for campaigning. The chief minister also blamed some people engaged in 'unlawful activities' for the illegal firecracker factory blasts that have occurred in the state.

Authorities in Rajasthan's Kota district have asked coaching institutes to stop conducting routine tests of students preparing for NEET and other competitive exams for the next two months in the wake of suicides by a number of aspirants. Within four hours, two NEET aspirants allegedly committed suicide in two separate incidents in Kota on August 27, taking the total toll to 22 this year.

The Taliban will use security forces to stop women from visiting one of Afghanistan's most popular national parks, according to information shared by a spokesman for the Vice and Virtue Ministry. This comes a week after the minister, Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, visited the province and told officials and religious clerics that women haven't been adhering to the correct way of wearing the hijab, asking security personnel to stop women from visiting the tourist hotspot.
