Hitting out at the BJP for alleging that West Bengal has become a safe haven for terrorists, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the accused in the Bengaluru blast case were arrested because of the state police's prompt action. "Heard one BJP leader saying that Bengal is not safe. The accused were arrested within two hours following a prompt response by police. What about the states where you are in power?" she said at a rally in Cooch Behar.
Delhi Cabinet minister Atishi alleged that a big political conspiracy is being hatched by the BJP-led central government to impose President's Rule in the national capital. A Delhi court sent Bharat Rasthra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha to CBI custody till April 15 in the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. Kavitha, 46, was arrested by the CBI in Tihar jail, where she was lodged after her arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case linked to the alleged scam.
Delhi court issued notice to the ED and the CBI on AAP leader Manish Sisodia's plea seeking interim bail in excise cases for campaigning in general elections.
