Vijay Deverakonda’s family man cooks, cleans and sometimes beats up goons with as much ease in the teaser of Parsuram Petla’s upcoming Telugu film Family Star, also starring Mrunal Thakur.

The video, dropped on Tuesday, introduces us to Vijay’s dedicated family man who resorts to violence whenever he encounters a threat to his family. He cooks for his mother, cleans the house, spends time with his grandmother, and channels his inner action hero when needed.

Vijay’s character is not only a dedicated family man but also a sincere worker at his office. However, being a “family star” is not easy as it leaves him cash-strapped when the time arises to fulfil his own needs.

At the end of the teaser, Vijay meets Mrunal Thakur’s character who asks him to drop her at her college. “Buy me petrol, I will certainly drop you,” he replies.

Vijay shared a poster of the film on X (formerly Twitter) two days before the teaser drop and wrote, “To all my dear families, With love, A boy who lived this life.”

Mrunal Thakur shared the poster on Instagram and wrote, “Yevandi... #FamilyStarTeaser vachesindi... Chuseyandi 🤩The most awaited #FamilyStarTeaser OUT NOW 🌟In cinemas on April 5th ❤️‍🔥.”

The poster features a blue shirt-clad Vijay with his hand placed on his chest after Mrunal asks him to give her a lift to her college.

Last year, Mrunal shared pictures from a puja carried out before the shooting started for the film. “The first step in a very exciting journey...It's my 1st time working with @srivenkateswaracreations and I'm really thrilled to be sharing the screen with @thedeverakonda. Can't wait for the shoot to begin @parasurampetla Sir✨,” she wrote in the caption.

Family Star is slated to release in theatres on April 5.
