Vicky Kaushal on Friday shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos from his rigorous preparations under the guidance of the Indian Army’s 6 Sikh Regiment to play the late Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw for Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming movie Sam Bahadur.

“Must say I got a ‘warm’ welcome by the 6 Sikh Regiment this time during my trip to Delhi for #SAMबहादुर Trailer launch!” the 35-year-old actor wrote on Instagram alongside the videos and snaps.

The first video shows Vicky running towards a ring of fire and leaping over it in slow-motion, while the next clip is all about Vicky crawling under low barbed wires with Armymen around him.

Vicky shared a photo straight from the shoot, showing himself along with another actor clad in the Indian Army uniform.

In another picture, Vicky undergoes shooting practice with instructions from an Army member.

Vicky is also seen interacting with Army officers in yet another picture.

The last picture shows the actor sporting a moustache and beard. He is seen in a beige jacket and a light brown t-shirt.

However, it is not the first time Vicky received training from a regiment of the Indian Army for preparing for a film role. He had earlier received training from the 7 Sikh Regiment for his role as Major Vihaan Singh Shergill in the 2019 war drama Uri: The Surgical Strike.

“In 2018, before we started filming URI, I was trained by the 7 Sikh Regiment. Unki obstacle training drills ki yaadein taaza ho gayi… always feels great to get a pat on your back by the real heroes! 🫡 ,” Vicky also wrote in his post, recalling his first experience of undergoing training from Army members.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur is slated to release in theatres on December 1.
