They say the third time’s a charm but for Kapil Sharma, it was more like the third time’s a Chamkila! After two lukewarm episodes that left audiences wondering if the mojo had vanished faster than a plate of phuchkas at a street corner, Kapil Sharma and his team proved that all is not lost on the laughter front… yet!

The latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show was a timely rescue act with fresh characters and a reboot of the fun quotient with Imtiaz Ali, Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra promoting their Netflix film, Amar Singh Chamkila.

Clocking in at just 38 minutes, the show crammed in a lot, led by Diljit’s cunning attempts at cheating in guessing games to Parineeti’s infectious giggles and Imtiaz’s witty comebacks at Kapil’s one-liners. The chemistry between Team Chamkila and Team Kapil was on point – from Diljit’s banter with Sunil Grover’s Dafli to Parineeti’s antics during the Chinese whispers game – making the absurdity thoroughly enjoyable.

Speaking of Sunil Grover, can we take a moment to applaud his versatility? From Dafli’s flirtatious antics to resurrecting the beloved characters of Gutthi and Rinku Bhabhi, he had us in splits, crowned by Dafli crooning to a song he/she had specially composed for Diljit.

And then there was Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda’s impersonations of Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un. Krushna nailed ‘Donald Duck’s’ Great Indian speech, while Kiku was quite the Supreme LOL Leader.

The next episode promises to keep the laughter rolling with Sunny and Vicky Kaushal, as the Great Indian Kapil Show finally lifts off.
