“Ek khel hai, kheloge (There is a game, will you play?),” asks R. Madhavan’s ghostly voiceover as he entangles Ajay Devgn and Jyotika’s characters in a sinister web of sorcery in the official teaser of Vikas Bahl’s upcoming supernatural drama film Shaitaan.

Dropped by the makers on Thursday, the teaser briefly features the lead actors, while the majority of the screen space is occupied by necromantic spells, symbols, and objects.

Madhavan’s ominous voiceover culminating in his baleful laughter intensifies the eerie ambience of the film. The sorcerer’s cautionary words, “Mere behkaawe mai mat aana (Do not get lured by me),” resonate as Devgn and Jyotika appear visibly petrified in one of the segments of the teaser.

The video promises an edge-of-the-seat paranormal thriller.

Shaitaan is jointly produced by Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of Panorama Studios, Devgn films and Jio Studios, known for films like Drishyam, Special 26, Tanhaji and Raid.

The makers also unveiled a fresh poster of the film featuring the lead actors on Wednesday.

“#Shaitaan is coming to cast a spell on you,” wrote the production house on Instagram alongside the poster announcing the release of the teaser today.

Shaitaan is slated to hit theatres on March 8.

Devgn will also appear in Amit Sharma’s biographical sports drama film, Maidaan, scheduled to release on Eid.
