Here’s a look at some of the statement ensembles that glammed up the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, held in Los Angeles on February 24.
The latest in Margot Robbie’s long list of Barbie-inspired outfits is a black Schiaparelli couture mini dress with an elaborate pink sash over the left shoulder. At the ceremony, Robbie posed with What Was I Made For singer Billie Eilish, who sported a beige-and-red sweater vest over an oversized white shirt.
Nominated for best supporting male actor at the SAG Awards for his portrayal of Ken in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, Ryan Gosling attended the event in a pale blue suit. He ditched the tie and wore his white shirt unbuttoned, with white oxford shoes.
Anne Hathaway's chic cerulean blue column gown featuring an oversized belt certainly reminded us of Andy Sachs from the 2006 comedy drama The Devil Wears Prada. Reuniting with her co-stars Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt after 18 years, Hathaway accessorised her look with a silver statement necklace and a matching clutch.
The Marvels actress Brie Larson flaunted her toned body in a two-piece Versace peach ensemble comprising a full-sleeved knotted top with a dramatic ballroom skirt featuring exaggerated pleats and decorative bows. Wavy hair, nude makeup and minimalistic earrings enhanced her look.
Ali Wong, who won Best Actress in a Television Movie or Limited Series for Netflix's comedy drama Beef, grabbed eyeballs in an off-shoulder black-and-white column gown with geometric motifs that covered the embellished tulle mock neck. The standout feature of her outfit was a pair of enormous wings made of protruding cords embellished with diamond-shaped cutouts.
Danielle Brooks’ part-tuxedo part-gown ensemble featuring an ombre hemline was a nod to her last film The Colour Purple. Fuzzy purple frills made for an opulent train, complemented by her matching handbag. A sleek bun and smokey eyes accentuated Brooks’ outfit.
Glen Powell, who plays a storm chaser alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones in Lee Isaac Chung’s upcoming disaster epic Twisters, was nattily dressed in a brown tuxedo.
Love On singer Selena Gomez turned heads in a white column gown. At the ceremony, Gomez shared a frame with Reese Witherspoon, nominated for her performance in The Morning Show. Witherspoon sizzled in a red Elie Saab Haute Couture gown with a thigh-high slit.
