Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, known for his breakneck thrillers full of car chases and explosions, is as good as his heroes when it comes to action scenes, shows a behind-the-scenes video of his debut web series Indian Police Force featuring the director and his lead actor Sidharth Malhotra.

“See how @sidmalhotra transforms the action sequences into an extraordinary spectacle! He just killed it as DCP Kabir Malik🫡👊🏻,” Sidharth’s team wrote, sharing the video on Instagram on Wednesday.

The video starts with Sidharth’s action scenes shot on a launch boat under Rohit’s direction. The filmmaker, who made his OTT debut with the Prime Video series, gets down from the director’s chair and enacts the scenes himself to give a proper idea to his actors.

Rohit, whose father MB Shetty was a fight instructor, looks at ease performing stunts and action sequences in the BTS video. The video also shows the director — who has also been the host for reality TV show Khatron Ke Khiladi for nine years — enjoying watching the scenes behind the camera with Sidharth and sharing his personal thoughts on the moves and angles.

“This is what happens when you do a Rohit Shetty action film,” Sidharth says in the video, showing his bleeding hand following a glass break. “But you have to wear the pain, and give your blood and sweat to do a Rohit Shetty action film,” the 39-year-old actor further said, heaping praise on the filmmaker’s penchant for action scenes.

“This is what happens when you make India’s biggest action series. Hardcore raw action on different levels and I’m loving working with Rohit Shetty sir and his team,” Sidharth says during the shooting of a scene where he hits a man on a launch boat with a fire extinguisher.

Sidharth shared the video on his story and wrote, “A glimpse of what it took to be DCP Kabir Malik, as envisioned by @itsrohitshetty.”

Produced by Shetty under the banner of Rohit Shetty Picturez and Reliance Entertainment, the police procedural series also features Shilpa Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Nikitin Dheer, Isha Talwar, Shweta Tiwari and Sharad Kelkar in key roles. The cop-thriller series hit Amazon Prime Video on January 19.

Shetty’s Singham Again, the third instalment of the hit Singham franchise, is slated to release in theatres on Independence Day this year. The film has a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
