Several Indian celebrities including Kamal Haasan, Dhanush, Jr NTR and Jackie Shroff showered love on veteran actor Rajinikanth on his 73rd birthday today, wishing him success and good health.
Actor Kamal Haasan, who has starred alongside Rajinikanth in multiple films like Apoorva Raagangal (1975) and Geraftaar (1985), was among the first few celebrities to wish him.
“Happy birthday to my dear friend Superstar,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), adding, “I sincerely wish you to live a happy life reaping success today and forever.”
Rajinikanth’s former son-in-law, Dhanush, also extended his best wishes to the veteran actor. “Happy birthday Thalaiva,” read the Raanjhanaa actor’s post on X.
Actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrence posted a picture with Rajinikanth and prayed for his good health. “May you live a long long life,” he wrote on X.
While musician Anirudh Ravichander addressed the veteran actor as “emperor” in his post on X, RRR actor Jr NTR praised him for his evergreen charm.
“Wishing the one & only Thalaivar @Rajinikanth sir, a very Happy Birthday. May your charisma continue to inspire for generations,” Jr NTR wrote on X.
Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff shared a video in which he can be seen hugging Rajinikanth. "Happiness Always @rajinikanth,” he captioned his post on X.
Rajinikanth began his acting career with K. Balachander’s 1975 film Apoorva Raagangal. He has starred in over 169 films, including smash hits like Raghupathi Raghavan Rajaram, Mullum Malarum, Andhaa Kaanoon, Tamacha, ChaalBaaz, Padayappa and Sivaji: The Boss.
He was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 2016 and Padma Bhushan in 2000.
