Raveena Tandon is a small-town lawyer on a mission to unravel a marksheet racket in Bihar in Disney+ Hotstar’s upcoming legal-drama film Patna Shuklla, the first trailer of which featuring the late actor Satish Kaushik was dropped on Monday.

The one-minute-54-second-long trailer starts off with Raveena, who recently starred in Disney+Hotstar show Karmma Calling, being introduced as Tanvi. She is initially mistaken by her guests as a housewife, but they are told that she is actually a lawyer. However, her husband, played by Manav Vij, minimises her work by saying that she works on small cases and is good at making affidavits. Tanvi’s slow career takes a turn when a college student, played by Anushka Kaushik, approaches her with a new case.

Taking on Anushka’s case, the underestimated lawyer unearths a major marksheet racket. The racket involves students paying money or using influence to get the marksheets exchanged with that of more meritorious students. Tanvi discovers that Jatin Goswami’s character, a corrupt and powerful politician, is behind the racket.

Tanvi faces challenges at work and home when Jatin starts using his political influence to demolish the lawyer’s home and get her husband suspended from his job. She is also constantly questioned on her capabilities as a lawyer. Satish Kaushik’s character, who is the judge presiding over the case, is shown telling Tanvi that her talents lay in the kitchen not in the court. Despite the odds being stacked against her, the teaser shows Tanvi motivated to bust the marksheet racket and bring justice to her client.

Produced by Arbaaz Khan and directed by Vivek Budakoti, Patna Shuklla is set to stream on Disney+Hotstar from March 29.
