Amar Singh Chamkila actress Parineeti Chopra doesn’t like it when people call her chubby or bubbly, she said in an interview with Mismatched star Prajakta Koli for Netflix India recently.

“I’m not champagne,” the 35-year-old says in response to Prajakta’s question in a video of the interview shared by Netflix India on Tuesday.

“What is the meaning of bubbly?” asks the Saina actress, looking sharp in a white pantsuit. At this Prajakta smacks the table, recalling a similar experience when she had to make it clear that adjectives like bubbly best suit a bottle of soda. The two ladies share a moment of laughter over this.

Parineeti also noted that their portrayal of characters named Dimple might have contributed to these perceptions. She played Dimple Chaddha in her debut film Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011), while Prajakta is known for her role of Dimple Ahuja in the Netflix romantic drama Mismatched.

Parineeti will soon be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming biographical drama Amar Singh Chamkila opposite Diljit Dosanjh. While Diljit takes on the role of the eponymous rockstar in the film, Parineeti plays Chamkila’s wife and singing partner Amarjot. The storyline illustrates how a young Amar Singh transitioned from a worker at a sock-manufacturing company to a popular folk singer in Punjab. However, the alleged vulgar lyrics of his songs led to violent protests, which ultimately resulted in his untimely death. A.R. Rahman has composed the music for Amar Singh Chamkila, slated to premiere on Netflix on April 12.
